Lisa and Matt Collins spend a weekend at the small town of Quiet River, where their son, Evan, meets a woman who says he looks like her son, and gives him cookies. The next morning a hotel clerk gives them another bag of cookies and explains that somebody brought it from the kitchen for Evan. Lisa sees something change in the clerk's eyes but ignores it.
The family goes back home to Seattle, where Matt returns to his job as a magazine editor and Lisa finds out she is pregnant second time. After a short while, Matt's personal assistant dies in a car accident and Matt and Lisa get involved into a violent store robbery where Lisa loses her unborn child. They think it was their worst nightmare but how little did they know. They have to return to Quiet River to learn what the darkest dark is and what face it can wear.
Quiet River is a small town and people are friendly. But remember - evil lives in quiet water.

This story deals with a family...Matt, Lisa, and son Evan. The family take a weekend break to a small town Quiet River. When they return a tragedy happens and Lisa who was pregnant loses the child. Lisa and her 4 year old son move to Quiet River for the summer while Matt comes on weekends in hopes that Lisa will come back to the living.
Suspenseful plot and everything that happens in the middle come together at the end. A very good book. The book had alot of misspelled words and some sentences that were not written right or didn't make sense.However, this did not stop me from reading to find out what was going to happen next. A Great kindle Read!!
The secrets were larger than the town itself. I was drawn in slowly, then when the robbery occurred , from that point on I couldn't put the book down. Suspenseful psycho thriller, OMG I didn't want it to end. This storyline was a roller coaster ride, twist and turns, up, up and down again and again. I Can't Wait To Read Your Other Books.

I must say I have ran past this book many of times in the past,finally I decided to give it a wirl.BOY,AM I GLAD I DID!This book was fantastic.The discription on the book gave it no justice,thats why I wasnt sure I wanted to read it.Lesson in this book...Just cause a person is old doesnt mean they are nice or good!No matter the age doesnt mean the intentions are always the right ones.Great read!
I absolutely enjoyed this novel. Unlike the nay sayers I felt this book was very well written and kept my attention. At times I didn't want to put it down. Yeah, it is predictable but it's now a who dun it book, it's a thriller. duh. It went at the right pace to keep you wanting more without drawing it out too much. My only though is why do authors always insist on pets and animals getting killed? I just hate that. Otherwise very good novel and the twist of who knew who was really great!

Wow, this is a wild ride. Lots of twists and turns, love books I can't figure out in the first few chapters.

I liked this book a lot. I found it one of those that is hard to put down. I was always a little unhappy when I had to put it down and very anxious to get back to it. The reason I gave the book a 4 star rating instead of a 5 is that I was not pleased with the ending and felt it left things up in the air. I think there is a sequel to this, with new characters but also some of the ones in this book as well. So I wonder if you will have to have read this book first to understand the characters from this book. Anyway, I did enjoy it and it was a quick read for me. Hope you enjoy it.
This is such a great read. I had half read and my mother became sick and passed and I was taking care of her so didn't read for probably four months, but when I picked it up it was still fresh in my mind and I love the end. You will never guess it was a shocker, I literally lay in bed reading with my chin on my chest gasping at each sentence.
